Cyclone Nargis Appeal
Natural disaster always happens unexpectedly. The people of Myanmar recently bore the brunt of cyclone Nargis, a devastating wind of destruction that has claimed 22,500 lives so far, with another 100,000 feared dead as well. A further 41,000 has been reported missing while approximately one million people have been left homeless.

Myanmar Cyclone Emergency Appeal - Wed, 7 May 08
Muslim Aid is responding to the current crisis in Myanmar (formally known as Burma) after the devastating Cyclone Nargis hit the country this Saturday 4th May. Winds of up to 190 km per hour crashed through the country and leaving thousands of people dead and many more missing. Tens of thousands of homes have been flattened, roads destroyed and power lines ripped down, and aid agencies are reporting that as many as 1 million people may be left without access to food, shelter or water in what is being described as the worst storm to hit Asia in 25 years.

 Cerebral palsy is a medical condition caused by a permanent brain
injury that occurs before, during, or shortly after birth. The primary
characteristic of cerebral palsy is a lack of muscle control and
movement. Cerebral palsy is not a progressive disease, however, the
effects have been known to change over time. Although the cause of
cerebral palsy is not known for certain, there is evidence that links
it to both the health history of the mother and child, and accidents
causing brain damage. The diagnosis of cerebral palsy is often made
immediately after birth, but it can also be made later in childhood.

Aid Australia dan dibantu oleh 2 orang dari Muslim Aid Asia, Kuala
Lumpur. Seminar yang dihadiri oleh 5 orang penceramah yang arif tentang
wasiat yang mana salah satu dari mereka adalah dari CEO Amanah Raya Berhad Legacy, Kuala Lumpur.

Muslim Aid Asia (MAA) akan menghantar
bantuan berupa 48,500 tin daging qurban kepada mangsa ribut taufan
‘Sidr’ yang melanda Barat Daya Bangladesh selewat-lewatnya April ini.
Bencana taufan Sidr adalah taufan tahap
keempat yang melanda Barat daya Bangladesh sekitar 9.45 petang waktu
tempatan pada 15hb November 2007 lalu, dengan kelajuan angin 240 kph
(150 mph) yang mengakibatkan banjir kilat selama lima jam di kawasan
Lembah Bengal, Bangladesh.
